Hello, AIAM Business Community

We are in the midst of an exciting season of continued growth. From new members to the successful industry events that are bringing together the Michigan aerospace community, I am pleased to share our latest news.

On June 14th, we held an informational industry luncheon at Weldaloy Specialty Forging in Warren, MI. Speakers discussed various industry trends and critical requirements impacting the industry. Attendees were able to hear from subject matter experts and meet other executives. Our event sponsors were Weldaloy Specialty Forgings, MOTUL, United Technical, and Macomb County Planning and Economic Development. Some of whom were also exhibitors along with Siemens. Next on our calendar is the Golf Outing on August 8th, an incredible full-day business event full of great networking with individuals and companies across the Aerospace industry. The golf portion of the outing is sold out. However, anyone interested can be placed on a waitlist to be contacted should a slot open up. Only a few of our terrific sponsorships are still available along with a non-golf option for AIAM members. Details can be viewed or place your name on a waiting list by clicking here.

Other important news you will not want to miss out on is our AeroOne Summit coming up September 7-8th at the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids. This year’s opening keynote speaker is Samantha Marnick, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Spirit AeroSystems. The aerospace industry’s 20-year forecast is once again unprecedented and on pace for a return to pre-COVID production levels sooner than expected by many. AeroOne capitalizes on that momentum by bringing together experts from a range of critical areas in the industry, including a Wall Street assessment from top aerospace analysts, critical supply chain perspectives from aircraft manufacturers and large tier 1 companies. The agenda will also include discussions on advanced air mobility, environmental sustainability, the gap in human capital concerning pilots and maintenance technicians, and more. This event is the first of its kind in Michigan and has the potential for leaders to reevaluate the course of their business priorities. This is a remarkable opportunity for industry thought leaders and representatives to connect and share insights. There is no better place to hold this conference than in Michigan, in the heart of nearly 1,000 companies serving the global aerospace industry. In closing, AIAM is seeking to gain valuable insights on how we can support manufacturers and help shape the future of the aerospace industry in Michigan. We are asking everyone – members and non-members – to provide your input. Whether you are a manufacturer, engineering firm, or other service-related business, we want to hear from you! The survey will only take 10 minutes and is open now through July 1, 2022. It can be found on the AIAM website at www.aiamnow.com or at https://www.research.net/r/MichiganAerospace.
