We’re taking AIAM to new heights in 2021! This newsletter is packed with information and opportunities that continue to elevate the aerospace industry and its growing footprint in Michigan.
The nation anxiously awaits NASA’s plans to land the first woman on the moon in 2024. While this will truly be a historic moment, women, like Rosie the Riveter, have had a profound impact on the aerospace industry since World War II. We are fortunate to have some of the best and brightest right here in Michigan. AIAM recently partnered with FIRST in Michigan to create a fun and engaging free event for students, parents and companies from Michigan with the goal to inspire the next generation of talent. Hundreds attended the “Women of Aerospace” virtual event on May 15th and had the opportunity to hear from multiple inspirational professional women from NASA, and the aerospace industry in Michigan as they shared the amazing stories from their experience and journey. It is the belief of AIAM and FIRST in Michigan that it is everyone’s collective responsibility to encourage and support the future talent that will lead our industry.
Connecting the business community in Michigan is also a key priority for AIAM. Our annual golf outing is a premier networking event. While 2020 was a year none of us will ever forget we could not be more excited about the future of the aerospace industry in Michigan. From welcoming new member companies, electing new AIAM board members, providing avenues for members to attract talent, and hosting events that cultivate networking opportunities, AIAM is always excited to engage its network for the benefit of others.
